The rate is down from 0.45% in August and 0.39% in September 2015, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) said this Thursday (22).<\/p>\n<p>The IPCA-15 stands at 5.9% in 2016 and 8.78% in the 12 months through mid-September, down from 8.95% in the 12 months through mid-August. Nonetheless, official inflation remains higher than 6.5%, which is the upper threshold of the Brazilian federal government&rsquo;s target range. <\/p>\n<p>Inflation eased mostly due to 0.1% deflation in food prices, including potatoes, onions, beans, produce, and long-life milk.
