The event is held by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) and themed &ldquo;Driving Global Green Economy.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Subjects will include sustainable projects financing, the use of solar power, implementation of the actions set forth in the Paris Climate Agreement (signed in 2015 during COP-21), the involvement of people in leadership positions driving a green economy, and sustainable action possibilities through public-private partnerships. <\/p>\n<p>The UN Conference on Climate Change (COP-21) led to the signing of a treaty ratified by 195 countries to fight the effects of climate change and cut greenhouse gas emissions. The COP-21 president Laurent Fabius will be one of the speakers at the Dubai summit. <\/p>\n<p>Panelists will also include Iyad Abumoghli, director and regional representative of the United Nations Environment Programme for West Asia; Adnan Amin, the director-general of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA); Matt Kennedy, the head of Strategy and Business with the International Energy Research Centre; and Matthew Griffiths, the senior programme manager for green growth and water issues in the Environment Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation &amp; Development (OECD).<\/p>\n<p>The summit also intends to advertise Dubai as a capital for green economy and sustainable development.
