Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s oil and gas output hit a record for the third consecutive month in August, according to data released this Monday (3) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). <\/p>\n
Oil and natural gas output stood at 3.293 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, a new record against the previous one set on July 2016 with 3.21 million barrels per day.<\/p>\n
In August, oil output reached 2.609 million barrels per day, an increase of 1.1% in comparison to the 2.581 million produced in the previous month. Against August of last year, there was a 2.4% increase.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, natural gas output reached 108.8 million cubic meters (m3\/d) per day, breaking the previous record of 107.2 million cubic meters set in July of this year, which, in its turn, had been 1.5% larger than June’s. When compared to August of last year, output grew 9.6%. <\/p>\n
