Output increased the most in the state of Esp&iacute;rito Santo, by 9%, according to IBGE&rsquo;s Monthly Survey of Industry. <\/p>\n<p>The national average was 0.5%, with higher-than-average growth in Minas Gerais (2%), S&atilde;o Paulo (1.6%), Rio Grande do Sul (0.7%) and the Northeast (0.6%). Production also went up in Amazonas (0.5%), Par&aacute; (0.5%), Rio de Janeiro (0.5%) and Pernambuco (0.2%).<\/p>\n<p>The states of Paran&aacute; and Santa Catarina had flat output.
