The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) reported 328,300 tons sold, down 15.5% from 388,700 tons in November 2015.

Export revenues reached USD 528.8 million, down 12.8% from US$ 606.4 million in November of last year. The numbers were released this Friday (2).

“Reasons for the drop in export volume in the past two months include a slowdown in Brazilian production stemming from the inputs [shortage] crisis seen in 2016. The reduced scale means Brazilian agro-industries are juggling the supply between the domestic and the foreign market,” an ABPA press release quoted CEO Francisco Turra as saying.

Year-to-date through November, however, export volume increased by 3% to 4.022 million tons, up from 3.9 million tons in the comparable period of 2015. Revenue dropped by 4.4% to USD 6.27 billion. In Brazilian currency, exports widened by 22.8% to BRL 1.767 billion in November, and by 1.1% to BRL 21.849 billion through November.

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

Press Release

Foreign sales from Brazil decreased in volume and revenue in November, but export volume increased year-to-date through November.

[102

0":"post-55824","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-agribusiness
Foreign sales from Brazil decreased in volume and revenue in November, but export volume increased year-to-date through November.
["GET
