The estimate was made public this Thursday (9) by the National Supply Company, with total crop output projected to be 219 million ton.

The expectation is primarily a consequence of higher average yields due to improvement of weather conditions in relation to the prior crop season. Additionally, total planted area is expected to be 2.1% larger, or 59.5 million hectares, compared with the 2015/2016 season.

The soy harvest should be 10.6% bigger, at 105.6 million tons, with a 1.6% increase in area. Conab’s superintendent for information, Aroldo de Oliveira Neto, said the record-high soy output will be much more a function of planted area than of yield.

*Translated by Gabriel Pomerancblum

Brazil’s National Supply Company (Conab) is forecasting a 32.5 million ton increase in 2016/2017 from the preceding season, to a record 219 million tons.

[102

0":"post-56395","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","6":"category-agribusiness
Brazil’s National Supply Company (Conab) is forecasting a 32.5 million ton increase in 2016/2017 from the preceding season, to a record 219 million tons.
["GET
