It said output at its Sohar plant dropped due to a scheduled maintenance shutdown that lasted 10 days. <\/p>\n<p>Year-on-year in Q1, Vale&rsquo;s Middle East plant put out 22.6% more pellets. The company imputes the growth to increased productivity and to a 30-day maintenance shutdown in January 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Across all its manufacturing units, Vale&rsquo;s pellets output was down 1.6% in Q1 from Q4 2016, to 12.4 million tons.
