An index from the First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) shows that business owners&rsquo; outlook was 1.8% better in May 2017 than in April 2016, news outlets from the Gulf have reported. <\/p>\n<p>The index climbed from 1,019.13 points in April 2016 to 1,038.28 points this month, reflecting a positive business environment in the Arab country. The score in May is an all-time high, <em>Gulf News<\/em> said. The survey shows the overall personal and corporate sentiment regarding the economy. <\/p>\n<p>The improved score reflects optimism regarding the market, increasing tourist arrivals and stability of the dirham (AED), the local currency, compared with most of the world&rsquo;s currencies, according to Hana Al Rostamani, head of Personal Banking at the FAB.<\/p>\n<p>Since April last year, the dirham remains flat against the US dollar. The American currency is currently worth about AED 3.7. The emirate of Dubai alone welcomed 4.6 million tourists in the first quarter, up 11% from Q1 2016, according to Dubai Tourism. The index was also buoyed by oil prices and diminishing inflation, according to Rostamani.<\/p>\n<p>The Wealth Sentiment Index (WSI) is based on the opinions of a council comprising industry specialists and wealthy individuals.
