Flight occupancy rate climbed from 64% to 70%.<\/p>\n<p><em>Petra <\/em>also reported that cargo traffic was up 11%. Royal Jordanian CEO Suleiman Obeidat said the carrier has a 25-strong fleet including seven new Boeing 787 which fly medium- and long-distance routes. <\/p>\n<p>The news agency added that since late last year, the Jordanian airline is having marketing campaigns and offering promotions in a drive to increase passenger numbers. It is also working on improving services and offering &ldquo;reasonable&rdquo; prices. Many of the passengers carried are tourists visiting Jordan, states <em>Petra<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Obeidat remarked that the summer season in the North Hemisphere, plus demand from Muslims on pilgrimages to Mecca, will keep traffic going strong, which should translate into positive financial results all year long.
