May 2016 had seen 393,600 tons worth of poultry shipped abroad. <\/p>\n<p>Export revenue dropped less, by 2.6% to USD 596.9 million, down from USD 612 million in May 2016. <\/p>\n<p>Year-to-date through May, 1.750 million tons of poultry were exported from Brazil, down 5.6% from 1.854 million a year ago. Revenue was up 9% to USD 2.968 billion from USD 2.722 billion from January to May 2016.<\/p>\n<p>ABPA CEO Francisco Turra said the industry is still recovering from the aftershocks of the Brazilian Federal Police&rsquo;s meat industry probe <em>Opera&ccedil;&atilde;o Carne Fraca<\/em>. &ldquo;Some markets, such as China, Hong Kong, Kuwait, etc. are still buying less than they did last year,&rdquo; a press release quoted him as saying.<\/p>\n<p>Turra notes, however, that exports reached extraordinary levels from March to June last year. &ldquo;Some 400,000 tons.
