The National Supply Company (Conab) released its ninth crop estimate this Thursday (8) in Bras&iacute;lia.<\/p>\n<p>The drivers behind this season&rsquo;s &lsquo;super crop&rsquo; are increased area and higher average yields, Conab said. Total area is expected to widen by 3.7% to as much as 60.5 million hectares, including second- and third-crops and winter crops. <\/p>\n<p>Soy output should be up 19.4% to 113.9 million tons, with an estimated 33.9 million hectares, or 1.9% of additional planted area. Total maize output is seen reaching 93.8 million tons, up 41% from 2015-2016.
