This is the idea behind &lsquo;Arrai&aacute; &Eacute;tnico,&rsquo; an event organized by the NGO Adus (Refugee Reintegration Institute) and by Funda&ccedil;&atilde;o Ema Klabin. The <em>festa junina <\/em>(a typical celebration held in June) will happen tomorrow (1) at the latter&rsquo;s headquarters in S&atilde;o Paulo. <\/p>\n<p>The event will feature Arab, African and Colombian food, as well as the usual <em>festa junina <\/em>fare such as tapioca, <em>arroz doce <\/em>(a rice pudding) and <em>canjica<\/em>. Patrons can also buy art objects and ethnical items from the refugees&rsquo; home countries. <\/p>\n<p>Items including Syrian perfume and African turbans will be on offer, as well as games like <em>correio elegante<\/em> &ndash; whereby people can send out anonymous messages to prospective partners. The soundtrack will be <em>forr&oacute; <\/em>music, and late in the afternoon, Brazilians and immigrants will come together for a big <em>quadrilha <\/em>dance.<\/p>\n<p>Adus was established in 2010 to assist refugees and non-locals who were forced to migrate to S&atilde;o Paulo. The NGO provides services such as Portuguese lessons, professional training, psychological support, labor market insertion, entrepreneurship-oriented training, and cultural actions. <\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Brazil granted asylum to 9,552 people from 82 different countries; 326 of them were from Syria.
