São Paulo – Personnel from the United Arab Emirates’ Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) will deliver a presentation to Brazilian business owners over breakfast at 9:30 am on the 29th this month at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce<\/strong>, in São Paulo. Ras Al Khaimah is one of the seven emirates that make up the UAE, and RAKEZ is the organization in charge of the emirate’s investment authority and free trade zones. <\/p>\n

“They will offer Brazilian exporters the option of using the free zone as a hub to serve the Gulf market, as well as those of Pakistan, India, Iran and the former Soviet republics,” said Arab Brazilian Chamber CEO Michel Alaby.<\/p>\n

RAKEZ oversees three industrial parks, as well as zones for foreign trade businesses to operate from, services, consulting firms, educational organizations and media companies. The hub is currently home to some 13,000 companies from 100 different countries and active in over 50 industries. <\/p>\n

The presentation is intended for Arab Chamber members and other executives interested in doing business in the Arab world, especially in the Gulf.<\/p>\n

In 2014, representatives from the Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone held a similar presentation in São Paulo. At the time, they said they had 25 Brazilian companies established in the emirate.<\/p>\n

To attract foreign entrepreneurs, besides the proximity to large markets, Rakez offers tax incentives, 100% ownership – outside of the free zone, a local partner is required –, modern infrastructure, little red tape, a variety of suppliers of products and services, among other benefits.<\/p>\n

The event will be held also in Belo Horizonte, on August 31, at the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG). In the event, in addition to Rakez’s presentation, the CEO of the Arab Chamber will give a lecture on how to negotiate with the Arab countries.<\/p>\n
