The rate is higher than July&rsquo;s preview, which had shown a deflation (price decline) of 0.18%, but lower than August 2016 (0.45%). <\/p>\n<p>According to data released this Wednesday (23) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), year-to-date the IPCA-15 stands at 1.79% while year-over-year it stands at 2.68%. This the lowest year-over-year rate since March of 1999 (2.64%).<\/p>\n<p>August&rsquo;s inflation preview was especially impacted by the price hike in the transportation sector (1.35%).
