Year-to-date, spending abroad reached USD 12.429 billion, up 35% over the same period of last year. The data was released this Tuesday (26) by the Brazilian Central Bank (BC).<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, spending by foreigners in Brazil totaled USD 455 million, down 24.4% in comparison to August of last year. From January to August, spending by foreigners reached USD 3.954 billion, a decline of 6.4% over the same period of 2016.<\/p>\n<p>With these results, net expenditure in the international travel account reached near USD 1.3 billion in August, an increase of 82% over the same month of last year.
