In the first nine months of the year, the index reached 1.78%, well below the 5.51% registered in the same period of 2016. This is the lowest inflation rate from January to September since 1998, when it stood at 1.42%.<\/p>\n<p>The IPCA, the country&rsquo;s official inflation rate, was released this Friday (6) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
