This Monday (10) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Socotra Island in Yemen is one of the world’s remotest and most untouched places. Brazilian photographer Cristiano Xavier takes groups to a one-week camp in the mountains and beaches of the Arab country. The flight comes from Abu Dhabi. Brazil’s Joyce Karine de Sá Souza, who studies the work of Tunisia’s Mustapha Khayati, a social critic that was part of the Situationist International. She landed a scholarship at the Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library in the United States to pore over the subject. And Brazil’s president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates on Saturday (15), on his way back from a trip to China. |

The career of a Tunisian is the topic of the research of Brazil’s Joyce Karine de Sá Souza. She’s studying the material produced by Mustapha Khayati, a cultural historian, social critic and political activist that was part of the Situationist International (SI). The movement, which had a no-border perspective of the world, was formed in the 1950s. The SI was made up of artists and intellectuals that were critical of the advanced capitalism and whose central focus was the construction of situations that could set up an environment favorable to change that.

Brazilian president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will visit Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, on April 15, after his trip to China, from April 11 to 14. According to the preliminary schedule, the president is expected to have appointments on April 15, with his return to Brazil on the morning of April 16.

Six of Qatar’s eight World Cup stadiums will be used for the Asian Cup to be staged in the Gulf state next January 2024, the AFC, Asian Football Confederation has announced. But the Lusail stadium used for the World Cup final and the iconic 974 stadium made from containers will not be part of the 24-nation tournament to run from January 12 to February 10.
