After record highs, fertilizer prices drop

This Thursday (13) in your ANBA Bulletin: The fertilizer sector experiences falling prices after a period of records highs. Pricve rates were affected by war in Russia and Ukraine. Fertilizers are among the products Brazil imports most from Arab countries.

The Arab market has a significant share among the destinations of sugar exported by Brazil. Last year, the region accounted for 23% of the country’s total product exports. According to data from Brazil’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (SECEX), compiled by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Brazil exported USD 11.2 billion in sugar in 2022, a 20% increase over 2021. The figure translates to 27.4 million tonnes.

Espírito Cacau is expanding its business in the Gulf. The Brazilian premium chocolate brand has already exported to the United Arab Emirates and recently struck a deal with an importing and distributing partner. “Now, Golden Falcon will be responsible for the brand in the Gulf region. They are from Ras Al Khaimah and present in several countries in the region, such as Saudi Arabia and even Egypt,” said Paulo Gonçalves, CEO of Espírito Cacau, in an interview with ANBA.
