Currency rate benefical for beef exports

This Thursday (16) in your ANBA Bulletin: News on the beef industry, which has seen a higher demand from the Middle East due to difficulties in supply of buffalo meat from India. The topic was addressed in a webinar hosted by Datagro and GPB. As Brazil’s real slid, Brazilian meat's is one of the world’s most competitive prices.

And Brazil-Kuwait trade flow proceeds as usual despite the pandemic, and exports from Brazil to the Arab country have even risen. Ambassador Norton Rapesta talked with journalist Bruna Garcia about Kuwait’s situation and homebound Brazilians that had been in the country.

Companies keep doing business with the Arab market. Dog and cat food company Nutrire reached sales deals in Jordan, and shipping is expected to begin before the month of May is over.

And IMF forecasts for the economies of Brazil and the Middle East this year and the next. Worldwide, it’s a recession scenario, but growth is seen happening in 2021.

In Algeria, Ramadan will have stocked poultry from domestic production. The country has banned exports of staple consumer goods and directed volumes to the domestic market.

With India unavailable, Middle East turns to Brazilian beef

São Paulo – Brazilian beef sales to Middle East countries are on their way up as availability of buffalo meat from India goes down. So said investment firm Radar Investimentos managing partner Leandro Bovo during a webinar hosted on Tuesday (14) by consulting firm Datagro and livestock industry association Grupo Pecuária Brasil (GPB). India is struggling with livestock production as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Brazilian pet food company makes its way into Jordan

São Paulo – Dog and cat food company Nutrire, out of Garibaldi, Rio Grande do Sul, reached sales deals in Jordan last February, and shipping is expected to begin before the month of May is over. Jordan is the ninth Arab country to buy Nutrire products – the other eight are Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain, Libya and Oman.

Novel by Anglo-Palestinian published in Brazil

São Paulo – Anglo-Palestinian author Naim Attalah just had his autobiographical novel The Old Ladies of Nazareth translated into Portuguese and published in Brazil by Matrix Editora. The book recounts his childhood memories and tells the story of two sisters, Wardeh (Arabic for rose) and Jamileh (beautiful). The ladies live in Nazareth, and the story starts in the beginning of the 20th century, in 1918, when England started controlling Palestine after beating the Ottoman army in the World War I.

Brazil to export 77 million tons of soy this year

São Paulo – Brazil is expected to harvest 120 million tons of soy during the 2019/2020 season, according to the Mato Gross State Soy and Maize Producers Association (Aprosoja). The association pulls together data from technicians and farmers in 16 different states of Brazil.
