The Arab Brazilian Chamber has a new president

This Friday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: an interview with the new president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). Diplomat Osmar Chohfi took office Thursday (22) with plans to follow through with efforts to modernize the organization and increase trade between Brazil and the Arab countries. 

During the inauguration ceremony, businessman Rubens Hannun capped up his four-year term as ABCC president with an overview of his challenges and achievements. Businessman Marcelo Sallum replaced Walid Yazigi as Policy Council chair. 

Basel Ibrahim Al Jughami, of Syria, started mining company Trilha Gold Capital in Brazil. Now, he's looking for investors. 

The United Arab Emirates and Lebanon imported rice from Brazil last March. Overall sales from Brazil went up during the month, but slowed during the first quarter.
