Footwear exports from Brazil expected to climb

This Monday (19) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazilian footwear exports are forecast to increase in 2021. Following a 18.6% slump in exports due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the outlook for 2021 is positive, and a 13% year-on-year increase is to be expected.

The United Arab Emirates has approved food safety certificates on live buffalo and bovine imports from Brazil. The certificate means Brazil will be able to supply large numbers of animals for slaughter and dairy farming purposes.

And the 1st Portuguese as a Heritage Language Olympics will be hosted in Palestine. Brazilian children and teens who live in the Arab country can register till May 31.

UAE okays food safety certificates on Brazilian livestock

The United Arab Emirates have approved food safety certificates on livestock imports from Brazil. The Embassy of the UAE in Brasília reported that the Food Safety Form concerning the sale of cows and buffaloes from Brazil to the Arab country has been authorized.

Footwear exports from Brazil could grow by 13% this year

Following a slump of 18.6% in footwear exports from Brazil last year and despite a first half of 2021 filled with uncertainty due to the pandemic, the industry is expecting exports to grow by 13% this year. The figures were present during an online event about scenario analysis hosted by the Brazilian Footwear Industry Association (Abicalçados) last Thursday, 15.

Brazil to host Portuguese language olympics in Palestine

Brazilian children and teens aged nine to 15 who live in Palestine can enter the 1st Portuguese as a Heritage Language Olympics. The contest is an initiative from the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It has been held in several different countries, and this will be the first Palestinian edition. Entries opened on April 5 and will be accepted through May 31.

Julia Biase launches channel with stories on the Arab world

In a souk in Amman, Jordan, Julia de Biase (pictured above) fell in love with the Arab world. The smell of the Arab incense bakhoor that filled the street market delighted the Italian Brazilian. “I was completely overwhelmed by the aromas. I couldn’t forget them; they seemed to get into my soul. From that day on, that trip changed my whole life. It was a watershed for me,” Biase told ANBA.
