The Middle East and North Africa construction industry market is the highlight of the ANBA Bulletin of this Wednesday (1). The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce organized a seminar to entrepreneurs from the House & Construction sector to encourage them to seize the many existing opportunities in the region. Arab countries have been making an effort to diversify their economies - to reduce their oil-dependency - and this is one of the hottest sectors currently. There's a strong demand for products and services to infrastructure works, to large events projects, such as the Expo 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and to shrink the housing deficit. The United Arab Emirates is the main market abroad of Brazilian egg company Ovos Mantiqueira. From the company's total exports, 75% heads to Dubai. In this year's first half, the company exported USD 4 million worth of eggs to the UAE. Mantiqueira's president, Leandro Pinto, told reporter Bruna Garcia that exports began over ten years ago, but that in 2018 the demand went from two to five containers per week. The demand for eggs have always been strong among importers of Gulf countries.
The Abu Dhabi hotel sector welcomed over 2.41 million guests from January to June, up 5% over the same period of last year. The goal is to end 2018 with an all-time high guest numbers for the second consecutive year.
