Professor Dr. Leonardo Tonus is a scholar, writer, and poet who, amid his studies in literature, found the migration issue a theme to which he would end up dedicating himself for many years, until today. For 20 years, he has been a professor at Sorbonne in Paris, studying and teaching Portuguese-speaking literary production, mainly Brazilian and of immigrants of different nationalities to Brazil — including the tremendous literary output of the Syrian-Lebanese community in Portuguese — and French literary production, including authors from Arab countries in North Africa. He bridges these migratory flows in his classes, lectures, books, and projects.
