This Thursday (13) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Brazil-Arab countries logistics in the pandemic. In an online event hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Union of Arab Chambers earlier this week, Brazilian Secretariat for Ports director of New Concessions and Port Regulation Policies Fabio Lavor said that ports across Brazil saw an increase year-to-date through May and are expected to reach a record-high this year. The Union of Arab Chambers secretary-general Khaled Hanafy said the impact on Brazil-Arab trade logistics was not as serious as expected. The webinar got viewed by some 900 people in Brazil and the world over. A Brazilian Air Force plane took off to Lebanon on Wednesday, taking donations following the explosion in the Port of Beirut. The Arab Chamber is one of the entities that participated in the initiative and helped stocking the plane with donations. The items were acquired with its own funds and those raised though a campaign that still accepts donations. A book brings a portrait of the DNA of the Brazilian state of Ceará and shows that part of its population is Arab descendant. The authors used a DNA research that mapped the DNA of cearenses. The book is titled “The Cearense Revealed: A DNA Journey Unveils our Ancestry.” Ecommerce was up by 25% in July. Despite the social distancing easing measures, Brazilians keep buying on the Internet. And Tunisia’s trade deficit narrowed year-to-date through July. As its imported slowed, the Arab country managed to narrow its trade deficit.
