Bahrain ranks first for IT talent in the Gulf

Bahrain was ranked as first in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for availability of advanced computer programming talent in Information and Computer Technology (ICT), according to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Report 2020, Bahrain’s state news agency BNA reported.

Expo 2020 Dubai launched an initiative for business people who want to participate remotely in the event starting on October 1st in the United Arab Emirates. The Expo 2020 B2B App will allow users to have access to thousands of contacts of visitors to the world’s exhibition, with whom it will be possible to schedule virtual or face-to-face meetings instantly.

Arab teen series premieres on Netflix

On Thursday (12), the Netflix streaming platform launched its second original Arab series, “AlRawabi School for Girls,” a youth drama featuring an Arab female-only cast and crew. The series was written and directed by Jordanian Tima Shomali in collaboration with compatriot screenwriter Shirin Kamal. The series is already available in 32 languages.

Ports throughput up 9.4% in Brazil

Brazilian ports throughput were up 9.4% in the first half of the year from a year ago, port regulator Antaq reported on Thursday (12). According to the agency, the organized ports and authorized and leased terminals handled 591.9 million tonnes over the period, the Waterway Statistics panel of Antaq said.
