Footwear industry expects better sales

This Monday (31) in your ANBA Bulletin: An interview with Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) executive president Haroldo Ferreira. Sales in the sector in Brazil and elsewhere were severely affected by COVID-19 but are expected to recover in the last quarter. The return of international footwear trade shows, most of them online, gives some hope. Some export orders have been received, Ferreira said.

The Arab Film Festival had its opening session last Friday (28) with the film Gaza, portraying the everyday life in the Gaza Strip. Producer Soraya Smaili talked about bringing back the first film the festival ever screened fifteen years ago about Palestinian intellectual Edward Said. The festival is hosted by the Icarabe and SESC SP and sponsored by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, with support from Instituto do Sono and Fambras.

Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Zidad) commercial director gave ANBA an interview talking about their tailor-made plans for Brazilian companies.

And seven foods are being produced in the United Arab Emirates despite the unfavorable weather conditions. The pandemic came as a reminder of the importance of food security.

Arab Film Festival brings back 1st film screened years ago

The 15th Arab World Film Festival, which is taking place online on digital platforms this year due to the social isolation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, had its opening session last Friday’s (28) night. Getting some 350 viewers, the participants of the online panel discussed the films of the festival, the importance of spreading the Arab culture, the pandemic that led the event to be online, and Lebanon’s tragedy.

Brazil’s airport authority to award areas within SDU, CGH
