This Thursday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Brazilian Embassy in Riyadh has held a cupping of Brazilian coffees during the International Chocolate & Coffee Exhibition with samples from 15 Brazilian farms. Registration is open for an art residency in Saudi Arabia until January 10. The second edition of the “Art Residency Program | Al Balad” is focused on visual arts and will take place in the historical district of Jeddah. And the government of Kuwait has floated a tender until March 17, 2022 for domestic and foreign companies interested in developing four areas along the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeways, one of the landmarks of the country.

Port-related investments boosted Djibouti’s economy

Large port-related infrastructure investments have boosted the growth of Djibouti in recent years, but the COVID-19 pandemic and the conflict in neighboring Ethiopia have had a significant impact on economic activity. So said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) when completing a mission to the country that ended on December 20. Ethiopia is the country that shares the largest border with Djibouti and has gone through a raging civil war.

Saudis try coffees from 15 Brazilian producers

 | The Brazilian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, held a cupping with samples from 15 Brazilian producers. The farms are in different producing regions like South of Minas Gerais, Mantiqueira of Minas Gerais, Alta Mogiana, and Cerrado Mineiro. The coffees were shipped in a partnership with the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) and Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé).

Brazil demanding proof of vaccination from foreign visitors

The federal government on Monday (20) published an ordinance requiring all travelers coming from other countries to present a negative test for COVID-19 and proof of vaccination when entering Brazil by air. The new rules came into force on Monday.

Kuwait floats tender for real estate project

The government of Kuwait has floated a tender to develop four areas along the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway that connects its capital, Kuwait City, to the north of the country and Doha, Qatar. The ongoing tender will allow companies to develop and explore zones in the Bay Island North, Bay Island South, the south bank in the Shuwaikh area, and the north bank in the Subiya region. The causeway is a landmark of the country and was inaugurated as one of the world’s longest bridges.

Registration open for art residency in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture announced on Monday (20) the launch of the second edition of the “Art Residency Program | Al Balad.” Focused on visual artists, the program will take place in the historical district of Jeddah, one of the largest cities in the Gulf state. Candidates interested in participating can apply through the dedicated link from December 20, 2021, until January 10, 2022.

Arab Chamber getting to know Marajó’s socioeconomic actions

Representatives of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) learned more about some of the socioeconomic actions carried out by the Brazilian government to develop the cities that comprise Marajó in the state of Pará. The region was the topic of an exhibit in Brazil pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, United Arab Emirates, that ran through last Sunday (19).

Brazil to donate 10 million doses to lower-income countries

Brazil’s Ministry of Health announced on Monday (20) that it will donate at least 10 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to lower-income countries under Covax Facility sharing scheme led by the World Health Organization (WHO) as well as to neighboring countries.
