Brazil’s book sales grew in 2021

49.6 million books were sold in Brazil since the beginning of this year, reaching BRL 2 billion (about USD 353 million) in revenue and an increase of 32.7% in volume and 31.3% in sales. Data is part of the Survey on Brazilian Book Retail, carried out by Nielsen BookScan and published by the Brazilian National Union of Book Publishers (SNEL). In 2020, the sector sold 37.3 million books, with revenue of BRL 1.5 billion (about USD 264 million at the current rate).
