Coffee grown by Lebanese aids Syria
This Thursday (8) in your ANBA Bulletin: The initiative of coffee roasters Tocaya to help the Syrian people. The company will sell Yalla Yalla coffee, produced by Rafic Youssef El Mouallem, a Lebanese living in Brazil, and part of the profits will go to Syria through the United Nations World Food Programme.
Brazilian startup Mileto is producing electric vehicles. The company sells motorcycles and minitrucks and intends to bring passenger cars to the national market soon. Mileto seeks to start exports in a few years and will have a business round with investors in 2023. An Arab fund has become interested in the business.
ApexBrasil and the Arab Brazilian Chamber launched in Brasilia the Halal do Brazil Project. The initiative will join efforts to increase the stake of Brazilian food and beverages in Muslim markets, especially products with higher added value.

Increasing the presence of higher value-added food and beverage products from Brazil in the Muslim market. That is the purpose of the agreement launched Monday (5) between the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), called Halal do Brazil, in the headquarters of ApexBrazil in Brasília.

Brazil’s roasting microbusiness Tocaya launched a new coffee earlier this week. The little pack called Yalla Yalla is connected with Arabs from its Lebanese Brazilian grower to its proceeds, part of which will be funneled to help Syria’s people. The coffee was grown by Rafic Youssef El Mouallem. The Lebanese farmer, who came to Brazil when he was 18, now works growing organic beans. He’s the great-uncle of Juliana Ganan, founder of Tocaya The roastery used El Mouallem coffee before, when part of the value was donated to help Lebanon following a blast that hit the Beirut port in late 2020

Founded in 2022, Mileto Tech Motors hits the market with the prospect of launching the cheapest electric vehicles (EVs) in Brazil. The Brazilian Autotech – auto industry startup – was born in Rio de Janeiro state but plans to arrive soon in all the major cities of Brazil with concept stores – some including technical support – so consumers can see and test the cars. And in three to four years, it aims to start exporting its products.

Brazil’s poultry exports rose in November. Revenue was up 29.1% compared to a year earlier, to USD 781.3 million, while the shipped volume increased 12.2%, to 375,600 tonnes, meat lobby ABPA reported.

Following a period of eight months in a row over USD 1 billion per month in revenue, Brazil’s beef exports went down in November, raising USD 872.7 million. Volume was also down to 173,783 tonnes from over 200,000 tonnes in the previous four months, meatpacker association Abrafrigo reported based on data from the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) at the Ministry of Economy.
