This Monday (15) in your ANBA Bulletin: the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) has released its calendar for 2021. It will go on with its virtual actions, but it has also planned out in-person activities for the second half of the year. Webinars will be held on subjects of interest of Arab and Brazilian businesspeople. Remote B2B sessions will also take place, as well as other actions including a participation in Expo 2020 in Dubai.
The ABCC is now offering preferential certificates of origin, via a partnership with the Confederation of Trade and Business Associations in Brazil (CACB). These certificates make enterprises eligible for tariff breaks or exemption under free trade agreements. Egypt has one such agreement with the Mercosur.
And the pandemic wrought changes in Arab economies. Economist Jarmo Kotilaine, a specialist who lives in Bahrain, discussed the subject during an ABCC webinar. Also featured was Ronaldo Lemos of Brazil, who spoke on innovation. According to him, countries will not develop unless they have a good data policy.
Also featured in ANBA are stories on orange exports from Egypt to Brazil. a Minerva Foods-SALIC agreement, and a course in the Arab-Islamic civilization from ICArabe.
And former Brazilian Agriculture ministers discussed agribusiness on a TV show on the Terra Viva TV channel, sponsored by the ABCC and featuring its president Rubens Hannun.
