Plant-based foods advance in Gulf markets

This Thursday (17) in your ANBA Bulletin: plant-based products are a growing trend in the Gulf countries’ food market. Among the exhibitors at the largest show in the sector in the region, Gulfood, which occurred this week, several presented plant-based innovations. Brazilian company NoMoo, a member of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, was one.

Brazilians introduced duck meat shawarma during Gulfood. The initiative was organized by Brazilian Duck, a sectoral project to promote the national product abroad. Villa Germania, the largest duck meat production and export unit in Latin America, exhibited at the show.

Mercedes-Benz Brazil exported bus chassis to Tunisia. Shipments were delivered in January, and the buses, which will be assembled locally, will be used in urban transportation in the North African Arab country.

Egypt has new import rules. The Egyptian Central Bank has instructed banks to only accept letters of credit in the country’s import operations.
