Brazil gains ground as pepper supplier

This Monday (21) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazilian pepper production and exports. The country is the second-largest global supplier of black pepper, behind only Vietnam, and has increased shipments to the Arab market. The consumption of pepper from Brazil in the region is growing above the average of other importers.

Brazilian chef Thiago Castanho presented a cooking show at the Brazil Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. He prepared dishes with ingredients from his homeland, the state of Pará, mixed with food he found in the United Arab Emirates.

The economic upturn is strengthening in the UAE, driven by rapid measures taken by the local government in the financial and health areas to contain the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
