Brazil to seek new niches at Gulfood
This Thursday (3) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazilian participation in the food and beverage show Gulfood, to take place in Dubai starting on February 13. The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will take eight companies, and its strategy is to increase the visibility of foods with more significant added value. Apex-Brasil, ABPA, and ABIEC will also be present and take several companies to the show.
Economist Marcos Troyjo will lecture in a webinar hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber next Tuesday (8). He will speak to businesspeople on the prospects for international trade in 2022. At the same online event, the Arab Chamber will present its schedule of events and activities for the year.

The 38-years-old Brazilian founder Ana Paula Rothstein Ramos de Lima manufactures the classical recipe as well as vegan and light alternatives. Gulfood: Brazil seeks to expand value-added trade

A mission organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will arrive in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, next week, with expectations of expanding sales of value-added food products at the Gulfood supermarket show, the largest in the Arab League, which will occur from February 13 to 17. According to information disclosed by the ABCC’s press office, the delegation will be composed of eight Brazilian companies.

Brazilian exports set a new record for January, reaching USD 19.6 billion. It was the highest amount since the beginning of the historical series of the trade balance, in 1989, surpassing the previous record, of USD 16.7 billion, in January 2018. On a daily average, foreign sales rose 25% over the same month in 2021.

Qatar Airways will be the launch customer for the freighter launched this Monday (31) by North American aircraft manufacturer Boeing. The industry announced the new 777-8 Freighter, from the 777X jet family to the global market with an order for up to 50 aircraft from the Qatari company for cargo transport. The first delivery to the Arab company is scheduled for 2027.

Fertilizer imports to Brazil reached a record high last year at 41.6 million tonnes, government crop agency Conab reported. The volume was up 21% from 2020, when the Brazilian market brought in 34.25 million tonnes of fertilizers.

The Ministry of Finance of the United Arab Emirates announced the country will introduce a 9% corporation tax from June 2023. The rate will kick in on annual profits above AED 375,000 (approximately USD 102). Cargo throughput at ports in Brazil have set a new record, National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq) reported on Thursday (2). According to the agency, 1.2 billion tonnes were handled in 2021, up 4.8% from 2020.
