Whereas last year, leisure trips for the younger demographic and business travel accounted for the bulk of foreign travel from Brazil, the prospect of getting vaccinated is prompting older people to book trips. Footwear exports from Brazil slid year-on-year in January but went up in January from December, hinting at a recovery. Brazilian beef exports also slid to almost all destinations, with a few exceptions including China. The restaurant "Make Hommus. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has revised the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s growth to 3.3% in 2021 and jumping to 4.2% in 2022. In October, the IMF expected the region to attain a growth of 2.2% in 2021, Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram reported.

Brazilian footwear exports in January reached 9.73 million pairs, down 22.2%, for USD 60.93 million, down 33.2%, from a year ago. Despite the year-on-year decline, footwear exports in January show signs of improvement from last April. Exports were up 5% in volume and 2.1% in revenue from December 2020.
