Brazilian exports to Arab countries hit record high
This Monday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: Exports from Brazil to the Arab market in 2022 hit a record high. Sales went up by 23% to USD 17.7 billion, the best result in the time series started in 1989. The increase was driven by agribusiness products, according to the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). Brazil’s Finance minister Fernando Haddad and São Paulo governor Tarcísio de Freitas met with Arab leaders last week during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Egyptians launched a document on the future of exports from the country with the purpose of helping companies boost international sales. The Middle East and Africa were the only regions to finish 2022 with increased activity in the hotel sector. The movement went in the opposite direction to the rest of the world, which reported a drop. Data were released by STR, a consultancy specializing in the sector, and released this Thursday (19).

Exports from Brazil to the Arab League reached a record-high revenue of USD 17.74 billion in 2022, up 23.06% from a year earlier, the best result in the time series started in 1989. According to figures compiled by the Market Intelligence department of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), exports from Brazil to the bloc of 22 Arab countries in the Middle East and North Africa saw a higher prevalence of agribusiness goods.

The Brazilian minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and the governor of the state of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, met with Arab heads from the Gulf region during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, to close this Friday (20).

The Egyptian Exporters Association, ExpoLink, revealed the preparation and forthcoming publication of a work document containing the vision of the business community on the future of exports from Egypt. The document was prepared by the Federation of Industries, chambers of commerce, as well as Councils and the Exporters Association.

Traffic in ports managed by Morocco’s National Ports Agency (ANP) dropped 4.2% in 2022 compared to the previous year. In total, the ANP reported 87.2 million tonnes were handled. Data were released by the official news agency of the Arab country, Maghreb Arabe Press (MAP), this Wednesday (18).
