Niemeyer’s architecture in Lebanon becomes World Heritage site
This Thursday (26) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Rachid Karameh International Fair of Tripoli was inscribed on UNESCO’s World List of Heritage in Danger. The site was designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it plans on supporting the restauration of the complex. The new consul-general from the United Arab Emirates to São Paulo took up the post late last year and visited the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). A Roman city was uncovered in Luxor, Egypt, by archeologists. The country has unveiled several discoveries, which are expected to help revive its tourism industry. |

The Saudi Ports Authority, also known as Mawani, has announced a new shipping line, with the Jubail Commercial Port connecting it with six international ports, Arab News reported on Monday (23).

The new consul-general from the United Arab Emirates to São Paulo is Abdalla Shaheen. The diplomat took up the post last December. He visited the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in São Paulo on Tuesday (24).

The United Nations' cultural agency UNESCO inscribed on Wednesday (25) the Rachid Karameh International Fair of Tripoli, Lebanon, on the List of World Heritage in Danger due to its state of conservation. The site was designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs congratulated the Lebanese government in a statement.

Egyptian archeologists said Tuesday (24) they had discovered a complete Roman city in Luxor from the first centuries of the Christian Era. According to Egypt’s Ministry of Antiques, it is a residential city dating from the second and third centuries uncovered along the Nile, near the Luxor Temple, about 500 kilometers south from Cairo.
