Read at this Wednesday (30) ANBA Bulletin that the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce Superior Management Council elected the entity board for 2019/20. President Rubens Hannun was reelected, as well as vice-presidents Osmar Chohfi in foreign relations, Riad Younes in marketing, and Ruy Carlos Cury in foreign trade, as well as treasurer Nahid Chicani. The meeting was this Monday night (28) and featured Khaled Hanafy, secretary-general of the Union of Arab Chambers, an institution representing the Arab private sector.
And more: director Mohamed Orra Mourad was elected administrative vice-president, replacing Adel Auada, who left the chair but stays as part of the board. Tamer Mansour was confirmed to the secretary-general chair he had been occupying provisionally. He succeeds Michel Alaby. Hannun stressed Alaby “made invaluable contributions to our chamber for many, many years.”
Hanafy is in Brazil to talk to authorities and representatives of the private sector about business between Brazil and the Arab world, its potential for growth, and the Arab companies concern with the possibility Brazil moves its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
On Tuesday (29), Hanafy, Hannun, Chohfi and Mansour met with Brazilian VP Hamilton Mourão and the minister of agriculture Tereza Cristina in Brasília. “Talks were quite productive,” Hannun commented.
