This Thursday (15) in your ANBA Bulletin: How the pandemic has changed international trade and what are the long-lasting impacts in the daily life of importers and exporters? Simplified processes, online connections, and more trusting relations are some of them. Annelida is a semiautonomous robot developed in Brazil that cleans oil flexible lines and could help saving resources in offshore oil extraction. The robot was created by teams in different institutions, including SENAI Institute of Innovation in Embedded Systems in Santa Catarina. Nitro’s Specialty Chemicals department will increase its output capacity next year, and the volume will be used to supply the markets of the Middle East and Africa. And journalist Diogo Bercito will launch a book on July 22. The Middle East expert wrote about the life story of Arab immigrants in Brazil and their presence in politics.

A problem that used to be addressed only from the outside in and could cost billions of dollars for the oil industry is on its way to a solution from the inside out. The Annelida robot can move around the tiny spaces of offshore production ducts. The equipment is tasked with cleaning the debris that get stuck in the walls and plug the ducts, preventing the oil from circulating.
