This Monday (17) in your ANBA Bulletin: Two department directors of Brazil’s Foreign trade Secretariat (SECEX), Renato Agostinho and Janaína Batista Silva, gave an interview with ANBA about the latest measures for modernizing foreign trade procedures in Brazil. Brasília-based law firm Marcelo Lucas Advocacia has specialized in preventive law services for Brazil-Arab trade. Its goal is to monitor dealings from a law perspective to prevent future trouble. On a visit to the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in São Paulo last week, congresspeople from Jordan expressed their desire that their country welcomes more Brazilian tourists and further trade with Brazil.

Brazilian minister calls for global rethink on animal health crises

The minister of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil, Carlos Fávaro (pictured), advocates a worldwide discussion on health crises involving animal products, the Ministry reported on Friday (14). The minister believes that the debate should take place within the World Organization for Animal Health (WHOA) as a way to prevent a supply collapse.

After shortening the time export process time from thirteen to less than five days, the Brazilian government has worked to speed up the import procedures as well, from nine to five days.

Jordanian congressmen want to lure more Brazilian tourists

Jordanian congresspeople André Mourad Hawary, Haitham Grais Aoude El Ziadin, Abdullah Ali Khaleel Awad and Firas Jameel Ali Al Sawaeer visited the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) last Friday afternoon (14). André Mourad Hawary is son of a Brazilian mother and speaks Portuguese. They were welcomed by International Relations vice president Mohamad Orra Mourad. The politicians asked for support to attract more Brazilian tourists to the country. They also want to boost exports of fertilizers and olive oil to Brazil.

A Brazilian law firm found a niche in preventive law of Brazil-Arab countries’ trade relationships. Brasília-based Marcelo Lucas Advocacia specializes in advising companies, both Brazilian and Arab, to have a fluid relationship with their counterparts.

Ambassador of Qatar to Brazil honored at farewell event

The Qatari ambassador to Brazil, Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Abdullah, received a tribute from the Council of Arab Ambassadors to the country on the occasion he bade farewell to his post in Brasília. The Embassy of Palestine organized the ceremony on behalf of the Council this Wednesday (12) in the Brazilian capital.
