This Thursday (22) in your ANBA Bulletin: Trading firm Garra International resulted from the merger of a Brazilian company and a New Zealand’s firm run by an Egyptian executive. ANBA talked with Garra CEO Frederico Kaefer. The joint venture has increased its global share of beef, poultry, lamb and pork. The company aims at multiplying its revenue fivefold within ten years, from USD 200 million to USD 1 billion. Emirates airlines sees opportunities in Brazil beyond São Paulo. Emirates’ managing director in Brazil, Stephane Perard, said in an online meeting that the pandemic has hampered the company’s plans for the country, but they’ll soon focus on other regions of Brazil again. And Expo 2020 Dubai tickets are now on sale. One-day and 30-day tickets, season passes with unlimited entry, and family packages are all available. The event starts in October 2021 and runs until April 2022.

Emirates sees opportunities in Brazil beyond São Paulo

Emirates airlines want to fly to new regions of Brazil again soon. So said the managing director of the UAE company in Brazil, Stephane Perard. “Right now, we are focusing more on São Paulo, but we will soon focus on other regions again. Brazil is huge, and there are many opportunities,” said the executive on Monday (19), during the Americas, Asia, and Oceania International Conference. The event is supported by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and runs till Friday (23).

Tickets for Expo 2020 Dubai are now on sale, with several options available for visitors of the world’s fair to take place from October 2021 to April 2022. According to the event’s website, the season pass allows unlimited entry during the six months of the Expo and costs AED 495 (about USD 135 at the current rate). The multi-day pass allows access for 30 consecutive days at AED 195 (USD 53), and one-day tickets cost AED 95 (USD 26). Mastercard cardholders have a 25% discount on the ticket price.

Animal protein trading firm consolidates brand among Arabs

Kit International is an animal protein trading firm established in 2011 by Brazilian businessman Frederico Kaefer. Garra is a New Zealand trading company founded by Egyptian Ali Mossalem 26 years ago. Two years ago, the two companies formed a joint venture and now work together, expanding their global participation in the trade of beef, poultry, lamb, and pork. Last week, the new name of the merger between the two companies, which now goes by Garra International, was announced. The company intends to multiply its revenue fivefold in ten years, from USD 200 million to USD 1 billion.

Saudis extend validity of residence permits for expatriates

Saudi Arabia will automatically extend the validity of residence permits for expatriates in addition to extending the validity of visit visas and exit and re-entry visas. The measure was issued by the General Directorate of Passports of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Finance, the Arab country’s official news agency SPA reported.

Kuwait to spend USD 65.1 billion on strategic projects

Brazilian household spending intention grows in July
| |

Household Spending Intention (ICF, in the Portuguese initialism) in Brazil grew 2% in July, achieving the second consecutive high. The index reached 68.4 points, the highest level since April and up 3.5% from a year ago 2020.
