This Tuesday (25) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazil’s Onii Lojas Autônomas will open in the United Arab Emirates in the second half of the year. The company provides smart convenience store solutions that can be set up in venues like condominiums, companies, clubs, and stadiums. Discover what are the thoughts of the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Brasília, Faisal Ibrahim Ghulam, on his country’s relations with Brazil. The diplomat took office last November and visited last week the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) in São Paulo, where he talked with ANBA. And Arab literature lovers will have a book club in Brazil. Organized by publisher Tabla, meetings will start on August 18 with a discussion on Night Mail by Lebanese author Hoda Barakat.

Saudi ambassador to Brazil visits Arab Brazilian Chamber

The new ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Brazil, Faisal Ibrahim Ghulam, traveled to São Paulo this Friday (21) and visited the headquarters of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) on Avenida Paulista. The diplomat has been in Brasilia since November 2022, and this was his first visit to the entity. Ghulam is in his second post as ambassador.

Brazilian convenience store chain arrives in Dubai

Created in 2019 by five Brazilians, Onii Autonomous Stores will open its first point of sale in an Arab country this October. Victor Azouri Bermudes, one of the founders and CEO of Onii, will be responsible for the brand’s arrival in Dubai. Already living in the United Arab Emirates, Victor will also take care of opening units in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, other emirates of the country.

Morocco debuts in Women’s Word Cup in loss

In Morocco’s debut in FIFA Women’s World Cup on Monday (24), the Arab team lost 6-0 to the German team in the first match of Group H. It was the biggest rout so far in this tournament edition. It’s the first time a female Arab team has participated in the competition.

Brazil wants to host 2027 Women’s Football World Cup

The Women’s Football World Cup kicked off this Thursday (20) in Australia and New Zealand. The tournament could significantly impact the sport in Brazil, reflecting the success of the national team led by Swedish coach Pia Sundhage. Regardless of the final result in Oceania’s stadiums this year, Brazil wants to give women’s football even more visibility and attention in the next Women’s World Cup in 2027.

Brazil’s grain output to touch 390 mn tonnes in 10 years

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply of Brazil forecasts that the grain output in the country will reach some 390 million tonnes ten years from now, a 24% growth, which means 75.5 million tonnes. The result is set to be reached especially in the soybean, maize and cotton crops.
