This Thursday (8) in your ANBA Bulletin: Brazil was spurred into action to help Lebanon. Representatives of entities connected to the Arab and Lebanese community, leaders of the public sector and diplomats met at the São Paulo Commercial Association to discuss how to help the country emerge from its severe crisis. One of the possibilities is creating a fund to invest in projects that could generate income in Lebanon. Ambassador Carla Jazzar, chargé d’affaires of the Lebanese Embassy in Brasília, led the event. The next day, she was welcomed at the headquarter of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, where talks on possible actions to help Lebanon export more to Brazil were initiated. This can be a way to generate business and revenue in the Arab country. And logistics and transportation of goods between Brazil and the Arab countries were the topic of an ABCC webinar earlier this week featuring speakers from Brazil and elsewhere. Specialists said the container flow from the Arab countries to Brazil is underused.

Culture has a significant role in the economic relations between the Arab countries and Brazil, going beyond the values that usually direct relations between other nations. In Arab countries, Brazilian products are preferred by consumers for reasons related to the high level of affection that citizens have for the country and the historical relations, laden with political positions in support of Arab issues, specially the Palestinian cause.
