The decline in ethanol sales and the increase in sugarcane processing will allow Brazil to supply 30 million tonnes to the world sugar market in the 2020-21 crop. And the Arab countries are demanding a series of new items from Brazil, including citrus fruit. Brazilian agribusiness managed to grow in the first quarter, by 0.6%, while Brazil GDP contracted 1.5%. And orange juice exports from Brazil are up.  | São Paulo – The Brazilian 2020-21 sugarcane crop is just beginning but is promising and can allow Brazil to have a large sugar export supply. According to the “Fortnightly Monitoring of the Center-South Region Crop” through May 16 released by the Brazilian Sugarcane Industry Association (UNICA), the sugarcane grinding through mid-May surpassed 103 million tonnes, up 21.67% from a year ago.

São Paulo – Demand in Arab countries for Brazilian products is going up amid the pandemic, including for fruit. São Paulo – Orange juice exports from Brazil were 17% bigger in the first ten months of the 2019/2020 crop season than in the comparable period of the preceding season. The numbers were made public by the National Citrus Juice Exporters Association (CitrusBR) quoting Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) figures. Foreign sales amounted to 914,200 tons. Revenue climbed 4.5% to USD 1.5 billion.

 | Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) contracted by 1.5% in the first quarter of the year from the prior quarter, Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics said on Friday (29). Year-on-year, GDP declined by 0.3%. In the twelve months through March, GDP grew by 0.9%.

That call from Paris, France, told her she was one of the recipients of the 2019 UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture, given by one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
