Brazilian university's library to receive donation from UAE

This Thursday (15) in your ANBA Bulletin: United Arab Emirates International Cooperation minister of state Reem Al Hashimy is visiting Brazil together with COP28 director-general Majid Al Suwaidi. They participated in an event at the University of Brasília (UnB), whose library will receive a donation from the UAE for its renovation.

Bahia-born Jamille Knop established Brazilian fashion distributor Lassus Design Brand and slipper brand Brez. in Dubai.

Sharjah's SAIF Zone offers many benefits to foreign companies. A delegation from the free zone is in Brazil and presented some of them at an event in the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC).

A Brazilian fashion entrepreneur in Dubai

During a business trip to Dubai in September 2020, Jamille Knop (pictured above) decided she wanted to live and work in the city. Back then, the entrepreneur from Bahia worked as a fashion consultant and fell in love with the region and saw a gap in the regional market. In 2021, she created a distributor of Brazilian fashion brands, and less than two years later she established a Brazilian-style slipper brand. Together, the two businesses generate over USD 200,000 a year.

UAE to donate for renovation of Brazil’s university library

The United Arab Emirates will donate for the renovation of the Central Library of the University of Brasília (UnB). The announcement was made Wednesday (14) by UnB Foreign Affairs secretary Virgílio Almeida during an event at the university featuring UAE International Cooperation minister of state Reem Al Hashimy, who’s visiting various countries in South American together with COP28 director-general Majid Al Suwaidi. They have appointments in Brasília through Thursday (15).

Brazil’s coffee exports to Arab states up 50% year to date
