In interview with our reporter Thais Sousa, Viva Lácteos technical advisor Gustavo Beduschi talked about the country’s new rules that the industry is trying to meet. And Instituto Jovem Exportador will host an internationalization program for young entrepreneurs in 2021 in the Middle East, including a participation in food and beverage trade show Gulfood to run in Dubai, UAE. Brazil is poised to supply more halal food products in the wake of COVID-19. According to story by Bruna Garcia, consumers will seek more halal values, such as quality and hygiene. Topic was addressed during a webinar hosted by Fambras Halal featuring Agriculture minister Tereza Cristina and Arab Chamber president Rubens Hannun. And the third stadium for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was completed, and olive Ridley turtles were sighted in the United Arab Emirates for the first time.

 | São Paulo – The Brazilian dairy industry studies how to adapt to the new Saudi Arabian requirements. “The Saudi model has been revised. From mid-2019 onwards, new requirements were implemented. We’ll try to maintain this market open,” Brazilian Dairy Association (Viva Lácteos) technical advisor Gustavo Beduschi explained.

Halal sales from Brazil could go up in wake of Covid-19

São Paulo – Brazil’s is poised to increase its foothold as a halal food supplier once the pandemic is over, Agriculture, Livestock and Supply minister Tereza Cristina during a webinar hosted by certifier Fambras Halal this Wednesday morning (17). The topic of the webinar was the importance of Brazilian halal foods to the world. Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce president Rubens Hannun agreed.

Program to take young entrepreneurs to Middle East

São Paulo – The Instituto Jovem Exportador (Young Exporter Institute) will promote in 2021 the 3rd Internationalization Trail of the Young Exporter Program bound to the Middle East. A trade mission will be sent to the region from February 18 to 25, 2021, with 30 young businesspeople. The itinerary will end with a participation in a food and beverage trade show, Gulfood 2021, to run in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Qatar completes third World Cup venue

 | São Paulo – Qatar announced the completion of its third stadium for FIFA World Cup 2022; the event will be hosted for first time in the Middle East. To celebrate the Education City Stadium, Qatar released a video (watch below) honoring the frontline healthcare workers fighting against coronavirus. “We are using this occasion – and the power of sport – to shine a light on their dedication and strength,” the Qatar World Cup 2022 Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy said.

Saudi fund supports industry with USD 1 bn amid pandemic

São Paulo – A stimulus plan from the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) will provide SAR 3.7 billion (roughly USD 1 billion) in support to industrial companies affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the online version of Saudi newspaper Arab News reported this Wednesday (17). Over 500 projects will benefit from the support.

Intelbras to export body temperature cameras

São Paulo – Brazilian company Intelbras signed a deal to export its body temperature cameras to Mexico and is in talks to sell it to other countries. The equipment identifies people with high body temperatures and has been used to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. When it detects a high temperature in someone, the camera generates warnings that can be conveyed through alarms, access control, warning to operators, message to medical teams, and other possibilities.

Egypt to resume international flights next month

São Paulo – Egypt plans to gradually resume international flights next month with countries that have opened their airports. The country’s Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Manar said on Sunday (14) that all airports will reopen on July 1.

Agricultural production value to be up 8.5% in Brazil
| |

São Paulo – A Gross Agricultural Production Value of BRL 703.8 billion (USD 137.7 billion) is expected in Brazil this year, up 8.5% from BRL 648.4 billion (USD 133.9 billion) at today’s exchange rate) in 2019. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply said this will be the highest amount since records started being taken in 1989.
