Arab Chamber webinar to address diplomacy

This Monday (22) in your ANBA Bulletin: The Arab Chamber will host an online conference next Wednesday (24) addressing Brazil-Arab diplomatic relations. The webinar will feature diplomats from both regions. Registration is open, and simultaneous interpretation into Portuguese and Arabic will be available

And Kuwait implemented measures to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The government decided to ease by two hours the night curfew in the country but extended by one week the first phase of the plan to gradually ease social distancing.

And Brazil put in place tax measures during the pandemic. Several taxes have been deferred, which brings some relief to enterprises struggling with the crisis. Crespo Gregio Advogados talked to ANBA about them.

And delegates of Arab Tourism ministries convened online last week to reach an agreement on measures intended to get tourism going again across the region. Arab League secretary-general Ahmed Aboul Gheit was featured.

Kuwait eases curfew, intensifies other measures

São Paulo – Kuwait’s government decided to ease by two hours the curfew implemented in the country to fight the novel coronavirus. The curfew moved from 6pm-6am to 7pm-5am as of Sunday (21), news agency Gulf News reported.

Webinar to address Brazilian-Arab diplomacy

São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce will host its eighth webinar, “Brazil and Arab Countries: Economic Diplomacy,” next Wednesday (24) at 9 am. Discussions will involve trade, economic cooperation and investment. Registration is open and the webinar is free. Simultaneous interpretation into Portuguese and Arabic will be available, since viewers are expected in Brazil and abroad, as was the case in past webinars.

Arab culinary fair to go delivery-only

São Paulo – The Arab Culinary Diversity Fair in Brasília has morphed into something new this year. In a bid to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the food fest will see typical Arab dishes delivered to people’s doorsteps. The fair takes place each year since 2018 courtesy of the Institute of Arab-Brazilian Culture (Icab), with support from the Federation of Arab Entities in Brazil.

Tax incentives can be used in exports

São Paulo – Brazilian exporters have a series of tax benefits that they can use when shipping goods.
