Mission bringing Arab companies to Brazil
This Thursday (23) in your ANBA Bulletin: Registration is open for Arab companies interested in participating in a trade mission to Brazil. Held by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), the initiative plans on helping businesspeople break into the Brazilian market. The program starts July 3 and includes the participation in the Economic Forum Brazil & Arab Countries. Photographer Ishaq Madan portrays the daily lives of his country. His pictures have conquered the world and promote his nation overseas. And Egyptian comedic drama Feathers has premiered this week in Brazil in movie theaters in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Niterói, and Brasília.

Egyptian movie Feathers (2021, 112 min) premieres on Thursday (23) in movie theaters in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Niterói, and Brasília. Egypt’s Omar El Zohairy directed the comedic drama and cowrote the script with Ahmed Amer.

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is preparing a mission for business people from all Arab countries. The activities will start on July 3 and continue for six days. Registration is open to executives who wish to participate and can be done directly with the ABCC team through the email [email protected].

Africa is a victim of climate change but also a major source of solution to the problem. So said the United Nations (UN) special envoy on Sustainable Development and executive director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mahmoud Mohieldin (pictured above), in a conference held in Egypt earlier this week by the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies. The main topic of the event was the UN Climate Change Conference 2022, COP27, to take place in the Arab country in November.

Brazilian exports revenue of components for leather, footwear, and byproducts totaled USD 175 million from January to May 2022, 21% more than in the same period last year. Solely in May, component shipments totaled USD 37.38 million, 33% more than in the same month in 2021. According to data from the Brazilian Association of Shoe and Leather Components Industries (Assintecal), the outlook remains optimistic for the sector.

Everyday scenes from a small Gulf country are the basis of photographer Ishaq Madan’s work. Born and raised in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, he is self-taught and shot one of the photographs that won the Photography Club of the Museum of Modern Arts (MoMA) in New York, USA, the Webby Awards. Madan’s picture is now also on display in a New York subway station.

Brazil will host from Tuesday (21) to next Friday (24) a series of meetings between Latin American countries and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a group of the most industrialized economies on the planet. The Brazil-OECD Week, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil in Brasília, will include events on economic policies, education and productivity in Brazil and Latin America.

Brazilian egg export volume grew 33.5% in May, according to data released this Monday (20) by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA). Six hundred twenty-eight tonnes were exported in the period, including fresh and processed products. In revenue, there was a 138.6% increase in sales, reaching USD 1.9 million.

Refugees living in the capital of São Paulo enjoyed a day of social action this Monday (20), on World Refugee Day, at the Immigrant Citizenship Integration Center (CIC), in the Bela Vista neighborhood. From early morning, food baskets were distributed, and tests for hypertension and diabetes were offered to foreigners who also received clothing and oral hygiene kit donations on-site.
