Art installation to pay tribute to Arab immigrants
This Monday (27) in your ANBA Bulletin: An art installation to be unveiled on July 5 in the city of São Paulo will pay tribute to the Arab entrepreneurship and the 70th anniversary of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Brazilian artist Kleber Pagú was responsible for the creation. And Morocco launched a campaign to attract tourists. The strategy, with the motto “Morocco – Kingdom of Light” and solid investment in digital marketing, was presented last week in São Paulo. |

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) launched its new tourism campaign this Thursday (23). The event took place in the capital of São Paulo and pointed to Brazil as one of the countries on which the strategy will focus. With the motto ‘Morocco – Kingdom of Light,’ the country seeks to leverage its tourism sector, which was affected by the coronavirus pandemic. According to the MNTO, the sector accounts for 10% of Moroccan GDP.

An artwork honoring the Arab immigrants is being produced on the façade of the Garagem Automática Senador building in the historic center of the city of São Paulo. Due to be unveiled on July 5, the work is the brainchild of Brazilian artist Kleber Pagú (pictured), who is also the curator. The research is by Fernanda Bueno and Heloísa Abreu Dib, and the project by Axé no Corre Produções, a company owned by Pagú and Bueno.

The Brazilian Chemical Industry Association (Abiquim) reported the sector intends to invest, by 2024, around BRL 1.9 billion (about USD 369 million at the current rate) in “initiatives that could result in the creation of jobs and technological innovations.” The announcement was made this Thursday (23) in Brasília during the event Diálogos com a Química [Dialogues with Chemistry], organized by the entity in partnership with the Secretariat for Strategic Affairs (SAE) of the Brazilian Presidency of the Republic.

Egyptian and Saudi companies, signed 14 new investment agreements worth about USD 7.7 billion during a visit by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Cairo. The agreements included the areas of infrastructure, logistics, port management, food industry, pharmaceuticals, energy, renewable energy, electronic payments, financial solutions, and information technology.

The Brazilian Central Bank (BC) has projected a 1.7% improvement in Brazil’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2022. The previous forecast, released in March, was at 1% growth. The new assessment was presented this Thursday (23) by the director of Economic Policy of the BC, Diogo Abry Guillen, at a press conference attended by the president of the BC, Roberto Campos Neto.
