In your ANBA Bulletin, this week exceptionally on Thursday (28): the ambassador of the League of Arab States in Brazil, Nacer Alem, stated that the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce is a strategic partner of the League's. “The League doesn’t recognize all of the chambers of commerce, and there are many chambers out there,” the diplomat said during a dinner event held by the Arab Chamber in São Paulo. “Since I arrived in Brazil (2015), the Arab Chamber lent a strong support to me, personally, to my family and to the League’s mission,” added Alem, who's leaving his post in Brasília after a three-year stint. Arab Chamber president Rubens Hannun thanked the ambassador for having helped open doors for his organization at the League, and for his having supported a number of actions over the past few years.
The Brazilian-born, Lebanon-based businessman Wisam Osman is planning to open an Arab-themed store in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. Set at the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the city is home to a numerous Arab community. Osman already does business in the Middle East, and he will set up his shop in a duty-free area due to open soon in the city. His plan is to offer perfumes, tobacco supplies, wine, hookahs, clothing, handicraft, Arab musical instruments and even edibles, like dates and pistacchios.
And refugee music group Orquestra Mundana Refugi is releasing a record on the Sesc label (of Brazil's Social Service for Commerce). They will play a an album release concert at Sesc Vila Mariana, São Paulo on July 12. The group comprises musicians from Brazil and migrants and refugees of different nationalities. They play tunes from Al-Andalus, Brazil, Guinea-Conakry, Congo, Haiti, Iran, Mexico and Palestine.

São Paulo – Orquestra Mundana Refugi, a group of refugee, migrant and local musicians in Brazil, will release an album under the Sessões Selo Sesc project. It will play a release concert at the Sesc Vila Mariana theater, in São Paulo, at 9 pm on Thursday, July 12.
