The ANBA Bulletin this Monday (28) brings news about the export of eggs from Brazil. International sales grew from January to May, mainly driven by the market in the United Arab Emirates. The Arab country increased its imports of the Brazilian product by 335% in the period.
Read also about the cooperation agreement signed between the Pecém Complex in the state of Ceará, Brazil, and the Sohar Port and Free Trade Zone in Oman. The memorandum of understanding provides for technical and commercial exchange between the two.
I addition, the Turjuman Award is now open for submission. It will be given to the best translation of a book written in Arabic into another language. The emirate of Sharjah promotes the award, and submissions are accepted until the end of August.

Brazil exported 5,108 tonnes of fresh and processed eggs year-to-date through May, up 143.4% from a year ago, the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) reported on Friday (24). Over the period, egg sales fetched USD 7.008 million, up 150.3% from a year ago.

The Pecém Complex, in the state of Ceará, Brazil, signed a cooperation agreement last week with the Sohar Port and Free Trade Zone, located in Oman. The complex in Ceará comprises an industrial area, a port, and an export processing zone (EPZ); it reported the agreement with the Omanis would provide for commercial and technical cooperation between the industrial and port terminals. Both have the Port of Rotterdam as a shareholder.

Submissions are open for the Turjurman Award from Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, which is granted to the best book translated from Arabic into another language. The publishing houses that have published the works from Arabic originals can register until the end of August. The winner will be announced and awarded in the next edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) in November.

Egypt intends to be self-sufficient in the production of vaccines against COVID-19. Egyptian pharmaceutical company Pharco wants to start producing Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine by the end of the year. Egypt also expects to begin manufacturing China’s Sinovac vaccine and is in talks to produce UK’s AstraZeneca. In addition, research is underway to develop an Egyptian vaccine, Egypt’s newspaper Al Ahram reported.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced on Thursday (24) that the country will allow some foreign travelers who have received their full course of approved COVID-19 vaccines to enter without taking a PCR test.
